Helping Georgia’s Children Thrive — In Their Homes, With Our Hearts.

Caring for a medically fragile child is challenging—but you’re not alone. The Georgia Pediatric Program (GAPP) is a state-funded program that supports families like yours—so you can keep your child safe, cared for, and comfortable at home.

Georgia Pediatric Program (GAPP)

Compassionate In-Home Care for Medically Fragile Children Throughout Metro Atlanta

At Atlanta House Healthcare Services, we understand that caring for a child with complex medical needs can feel overwhelming. Our mission is to provide compassionate, dependable, and exceptional in-home healthcare support so children can thrive safely and comfortably at home — where they belong.

The Georgia Pediatric Program (GAPP) is a Georgia Medicaid program designed to provide medically necessary in-home skilled nursing and personal care services for medically fragile children under the age of 21.

Unlike many waiver programs, GAPP has no waiting list, allowing eligible families to begin receiving care as soon as approval is obtained.

Our experienced team proudly helps families throughout Metro Atlanta navigate the process from start to finish — including referrals, paperwork, approvals, and caregiver coordination.

What Is GAPP?

The Georgia Pediatric Program (GAPP) provides in-home healthcare services for children with significant medical or physical needs who require ongoing support in the home or community setting.

Services are approved based on the child’s medical condition and level of care needed.

GAPP may cover:

  • Skilled Nursing Services (RN/LPN)

  • Personal Care Assistance

  • Daily Living Support

  • Monitoring & Safety Assistance

  • Community-Based Support

Who Qualifies for GAPP?

Your child may qualify for GAPP if they:

Katie Beckett Medicaid Waiver Information

Families who exceed Medicaid income limits may still qualify for Medicaid coverage through the Katie Beckett (Deeming) Waiver.

The Katie Beckett Waiver allows Medicaid eligibility to be determined based on the child’s medical needs rather than the parents’ income.

If approved, children may become eligible for Medicaid services available under Georgia’s regular Medicaid program, including GAPP services.
